About

Peter Atencio has been making films since he was old enough to be entrusted with a video camera; he's been making them professionally since he was old enough to be entrusted with other people's money. Two feature films, two television pilots, many episodes of various web series, and hundreds of short films later, and you're now on his website reading about his career as a director. When he's not busy making unique, entertaining, and visually stunning works, he keeps himself busy by writing website profiles in the third person.

Peter has worked for a variety of clients, including Adult Swim, G4, MTV, Funny Or Die, CurrentTV, and many more. His work includes films, television shows, advertising, and video art, and his second feature film The Rig was recently released by Starz / Anchor Bay Entertainment. A sci-fi thriller in the tradition of "Alien" and "The Abyss," the film stars William Forsythe and Art Lafleur as brothers battling a terrifying sea creature on an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico. His television pilot, Hot Package, a satirical take on trash television, was recently picked up for six episodes by Adult Swim. He also helmed a sketch comedy pilot, Key & Peele, which was recently picked up by Comedy Central for 8 episodes to debut in early 2012. He's currently working on a variety of top secret projects that can't be discussed due to their sensitive nature. Of course, if you want to know more, you should really just contact him.
